On the subject of Rice this little snippet makes you laugh and cry at the same time. The "Waist coated One" has done a good job overall but got this terribly wrong and it cost us the final perhaps ( we all thought so but I guess the C & B bottle top glasses were on).
Zola on BT Sport yesterday talking about Rice:
“This guy is getting new skills that is making his game wider and better,” Zola told BT Sport.
“(Zola laughs sheepishly) Look, this summer I was talking to (Salvatore) Sirigu who was the (Italian national team’s) second goalkeeper (for the Euros).
“He was on the bench and he said to me – because we had a chat about the final – ‘We couldn’t believe when he (Rice) came off because we thought he was the best player they had, immediately we thought he was injured or a problem like that’.

What a great result, totally unexpected by me, even more so after the first half.
Left to go out with 15 minutes to go watching on phone , got on the bus with the Mrs no masks on.
Sat down.. Bus was full..
Then came the goal, completely forgot where I was and jumped up punched the air shouting get in.
The two poor women in front got quite a fright, but saw the funny side when I said sorry but West Ham are massive..
Brilliant way to start a big day out

I think you're team will be close but having Fredericks as an out of position left back as a kin to having a certain free scoring left/wing back in there. Especially with such a young defence. But hey Fredericks will probably go on and get a hat trick.

Absolutely, Alf.
We need to move fringe players more into the centre of things as the injuries mount., so we should use the Zagreb game as way of bringing them up to speed, even if we risk losing. It's only a game that it would be nice to win, but can be written off as meaningless if we lose it.

The highlight of the season yesterday. Its just the injuries that will now determine where we go from here and of course the ability tou patch the squad up via the Jan window.
Aside from Zouma and Johnson, Coufal, Dawson and Antonio spent time on the floor with knocks, Lanzini was seen hobbling in the car park after the game apparently and even Bowen was feeling a knock. Of course, according to various reports.
The game against Zagreb will be the Ressies so no issues but we may well be needing Fredericks, Kral, Vlasic and perhaps even Baptiste or Alese in the game against Burnley. So an interesting watch on Thursday to see how they shape up.
